Schererville, Indiana

Where did you obtain your college degree?

I graduated from CU Boulder in 2002 with a degree in communications.

Why Colorado for college?

I was recruited to play quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes football team.

How did you get into selling commercial insurance?

After I graduated, I was fortunate enough to play in the NFL and the Arena Football League for six years. In 2008, I returned to Colorado to figure out what I would do for my “grownup” job. I fell into business development in commercial insurance, and found it was a great fit: highly competitive, focused on building relationships with companies, and an opportunity to coach and mentor others.

From insurance companies to TGRP…how did that transition happen?

Mark and I went to college together at CU, and we’ve talked for years about me joining TGRP to help the company grow. I started at a regional broker in Colorado in 2009, but soon moved to global insurance brokerage firms. I ran a couple different divisions and an entire office, and I helped a company expand into Colorado. By 2023, I was ready to try something new. And the timing was right for TGRP to bring me on board.

What’s your first order of business at TGRP?

As successful as TGRP has been, the goal is to incorporate a strategy into our growth plan. I’ll work with the leaders of our Recruiting and Placement & Contract Solutions groups to develop more of a sales culture. We want to broaden our network and reach in Denver and other markets.

What appealed to you about this new challenge?

TGRP solves problems for companies and helps them reach their goals. I really like the idea of building relationships with accounting and finance mangers and leaders who need a reliable resource for finding great talent, both full-time employees and consultants. Also, the TGRP culture is incredible. It’s truly a family-like environment, and everyone is on the same page about doing our jobs better and growing this company the right way.

Fun facts about Bobby?

I never played on a football team until high school—I was a basketball player until then. I have two daughters (7 and 5) and I absolutely love being a girl dad. They do my hair and paint my nails and we do all the girly things together. Also, I’m as big of a Disney nut as my girls are.

What has parenthood taught you?

That it is OK to just slow down and enjoy the little moments. And of course, patience.

What would past colleagues say about you?

I believe they’d say that I am disciplined and a hard worker who loves to collaborate and respects and appreciates his teammates.

What do you love to do when you’re not at work?

I’d play golf every day if I could! I also love to travel with my girls and I enjoy live music—whether it’s at Red Rocks or at a coffee shop.

Where are you the happiest?

Anywhere I’m with my daughters.

What places are on your travel bucket list?

Australia, Greece, and Augusta, Georgia, to watch the Masters Tournament.

Favorite place to sit on a porch?

You can’t go wrong with the Tailgate Tavern & Grill in Parker.

Words to live by?

Never put a price on a good time.
