Giving Back Spotlight: Denver Inner City Parish & A Precious Child

December 15, 2022

Throughout our existence, TGRP Solutions has been dedicated to giving back to our community. We believe so much in this that service is one of our core values.

Service, of course, is part of our business. We make an effort to deliver exceptional service to our clients and accounting and finance recruiting candidates, but we also believe that serving our communities here in Colorado is essential. That’s why when we have the opportunity, we encourage our employees and consultants to support organizations that mean a lot to them and us.

December 2022 Volunteer Days: Denver Inner City Parish

One organization we care a lot about is the Denver Inner City Parish, which supports individuals and families in the Denver community by empowering them to break the cycle of poverty.

This month, we adopted 14 families through the Denver Inner City Parish’s Adopt-a-Family program. This wonderful program provides holiday gifts to all members of a family in need. In early December, our TGRP team came together to shop for gifts, and we wrapped and delivered all of the gifts to each family before Christmas.

The Denver Inner City Parish delivers multiple comprehensive, integrated services that are intended to help people overcome poverty. From a food pantry to a scholarship program for people pursuing post-secondary education, from senior programming to an immigrant center that helps individuals with things like rental assistance and immigration legal services, the Denver Inner City Parish is an incredible human services nonprofit. The 2022 holiday season marks TGRP’s eighth year adopting families through Denver Inner City Parish! We’re so happy to be a part of this amazing program and thankful to the many TGRP employees who helped out with buying, wrapping, and delivering gifts.

September 2022 Volunteer Day at A Precious Child

A Precious Child is another organization we’re passionate about. This nonprofit assists children and families facing difficult life challenges such as abuse and neglect, crisis situations, and poverty. A Precious Child works with more than 546 agency partners throughout the eight Denver Metro counties to identify children and families in the most need of its services, which promote academic success, family stability, social and emotional well-being, workforce development and more.

Maggie Lugo, TGRP’s director of consulting operations, serves on the board of A Precious Child. In 2022, we decided as a company to get more involved with this organization too. In September, internal employees and TGRP consultants came together to spend time sorting through donations for A Precious Child’s in-house “boutiques,” or satellite resource centers and participating in their giveSPORTS donation event.

A Precious Child collects donated new and gently-used clothing, coats, undergarments, socks, shoes, hygiene items, home goods and other essentials and distributes them to children and families in the most need. Families are referred to A Precious Child’s resource center by schools, human services organizations, churches, hospitals, safe houses, fire and police departments, at-risk youth centers, mental health and foster care organizations and homeless shelters.

Clients make an appointment to shop for basic essentials they need—and all items are free to them. For all of us at TGRP, this experience was insightful and valuable, and we felt honored to help A Precious Child create an organized, welcoming setting for the families who use this resource.
