Katie is the engine of the TGRP Solutions vehicle. Her role has evolved through the years, but in many ways, her focus is the same: to help the company succeed, day in, day out. As vice president, she supports every team in the business, managing all of TGRP’s back-office operations. If you’re looking for a little TGRP history lesson, there’s nobody better to talk with. Meet our second-in-command (and the firm’s first full-time hire).
When did you join TGRP Solutions?
Mark [Reister] started the company in 2010 and I was his first full-time hire back in 2011. I joined TGRP after earning a BSBA (marketing emphasis) from the University of Colorado-Denver in 2011.
How did you connect with Mark?
My dad worked in accounting and finance for his entire career and had engaged Mark many times while at Qwest and CenturyLink to fill full-time and consulting roles (when Mark was with a different recruiting firm). When my dad retired, he told Mark if he could do one more thing for him, it would be to help his daughter get a job. Mark and I met and he ended up hiring me himself!
How has your role evolved through the years?
I started out as a recruiter, which was a great fit for me because I always thought I wanted to work with people. When we were small, I wore a lot of hats and always gravitated toward supporting our back office. So, eventually I became the manager of operations, then the director, and now I’ve been vice president of TGRP Solutions since January 2022.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the variety and I’ve always loved working with people. I like that every day is different; it’s challenging in a good way. I love who I work with. It is a fun environment here and always has been.
Where do you predict TGRP will be 5-10 years from now?
Where we’ve come in the last five years is so exciting. We have two divisions now—Placement & Contract Solutions and Consulting Services—and we have big plans for the future. Our goal is to continue growing and expanding into new markets.
What makes you a good supporter of TGRP’s founder?
Mark is a true entrepreneur, and I am good at supporting his vision. He has big ideas and I’m all about taking the ball and running with it.
Where did you grow up?
In the Centennial area near the Denver Tech Center. I graduated from Cherry Creek High School.
How would friends, family, coworkers describe you?
Probably down to earth, genuine, fun, and sarcastic!
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I enjoy all things interior design and I am constantly planning my next home improvement project. If I didn’t work for TGRP, this is something I would want to pursue full time!
What’s your silly-but-real job title?
Either Jill of All Trades or Chief Juggler.
Where would we find you when not at work?
You’d find me spending time with my family and those closest to me. I also love to go to country concerts, cheer on Colorado sports teams, and as a Colorado native, I love a day on the ski slopes.
Any little-known facts about Katie?
I was a figure skater growing up. And I have naturally curly hair but nobody ever sees me wear it that way.
What gets you through the tough days?
The great people I work with, my family, and rosé!
Favorite vacation spot?
Anywhere with a beach but especially Maui, where my family and I go every year.
What are you passionate about?
I’m very passionate about my job and the people I care about.
Favorite quote?
“Believe in yourself, and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own abilities, work hard, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish.” – Brad Henry
Words to live by?
Work hard and the rest will come. I’m a very driven, motivated person, but I’m not someone who sets specific goals that drive everything I do. I focus on what’s in front of me and what I care about the most.
